We're after some very handy helpers for ensuring this event runs smoothly. Roles will be varied but we do promise a lot of fun!
If you could volunteer for the whole day we would be extremely grateful but if you can only do an hour or two then please do still get in touch!
Who we are looking for
Age knows no boundaries, but stamina and energy does! Are you confident, bubbly and like working with the public? Are you a quick thinker and not afraid of a challenge? Then this is the role for you! Please note that when helping at our events, you may be expected be on your feet for several hours throughout the day as this is a fast-paced environment. Shifts are usually 4-5 hours long with breaks.
Being a volunteer event helper is one of the best ways to experience our seaside entertainments. Our helpers are at the heart of the buzz. In your Resorting to the Coast t-shirt you are very much in the public eye. As an event helper, you will help us to welcome the public and work closely with our team, led by the organisers, to assist with the smooth-running of events so that the audiences are as fully engaged with our activities as possible.
What our event helpers do
Helpers' tasks may include setting up venues, directing audiences, managing photographic permission forms, engaging with the public to encourage them to see our museum of travelling curiosities, explaining our event to the public if they ask, manning the travelling venue and generally keeping the event areas tidy.
You will also need the ability to travel under your own steam to our venue/s across Tendring, but travel expenses will be reimbursesd for petrol mileage or public transport fares. If you would like to volunteer but have access or mobility requirements, please contact email@example.com
Why get involved?
It will be a fun, lively and informative day and you'll get to be a part of it!
Also, fresh air and a seaside breeze...what more could you need on a summers day?!
As a thank you to our wonderful volunteers, we offer you a reference for your CV based on reliability, team work, initiative and self-reliance which are all valuable qualities employers look for. Purely doing it for fun? Then you'll have a fun and enjoyable time meeting like-minded people and discovering new aspects of our coastal resorts. We are not-for-profit project so unfortunately cannot offer remuneration.
